What Nour Loves About RTC!
Nour is an RTC OG! She used to train with Coach Allie at the old gym, and followed her when RTC opened its doors 5 years ago. Since then, Nour says she hasn’t looked back. “When Allie opened her own gym, I thought, ‘this is a no brainer!’ She has a talent for fitness and fitness education, and she is a tremendous asset to her members and facility.” Nour has nothing but love for RTC, and can’t narrow it down to one aspect that she likes the best. “I love the WHOLE place: the coaches, the people, the equipment, and the friendships,” she says. “RTC is my second home. I feel safe and secure there. I feel that I can be who I am without any judgment. It’s a welcoming place that creates opportunities to become better. I leave there every day with an improved outlook on the day!”
Nour’s fitness journey started in college, which she says was a time when she was “desperate to lose weight.” She started incorporating healthy habits into her life such as going to a local gym, making food changes, and logging her food entries, and then ventured into other kinds of gyms as the years went by. And while she says she always found CrossFit gyms “intimidating,” RTC changed her mind about that. “I am glad I made the right decision. RTC has taught me that everyone’s journey is different; stop comparing and just get out there and move. Put the work in and you will see that the work leads to a better version of yourself.”
Of course, being a good role model for daughter Sophia is a high priority for Nour, who has become a regular at the 5:30AM class (she notes that sometimes it’s more like 5:45AM!). “If I start my day with physical activity, it makes my work day go smoother. I prep meals during the week, lay out my workout clothes the night before, and some days I sleep in them! Then I can be home and ready to greet Sophia and play because my workout is over for the day.” Nour says that she wants Sophia to be “empowered by seeing all types of people work out,” and wants her to know that “she can do hard things like her momma!”

Fun Facts about Nour!
Favorite exercise: Cleans! I’m trying to get better at them, but I do love them!
Least favorite exercise: Burpees…any kind of them!
Favorite food: Pizza
Favorite movie: When you have a 4 year old, you watch a lot of kids TV. Currently watching Chip and Potato!
Best vacation spot: Santorini, Greece
People would be surprised to know that: I really can be on time!
Something that always makes me smile: Seeing Sophia after my busy work day!
If I won the lottery I’d…travel more and worry less!
The best thing about working in education is…the relationships with students, and seeing students mature throughout the school year. Of course graduation, and watching some students I had for a few years graduate, some who never thought they could.
A goal I’m working on is…to continue working on my physical strength in order to be able to keep up with my busy toddler and life! I want to age gracefully and keep working out and building muscle and living a healthy and active life.
Congratulations to Nour Kelly, the RTC August Member of the Month!
