Max Member Highlight

Max Murat Berkiten didn’t walk through the doors of our CrossFit gym in North Canton looking for a transformation story. He came in because his back had been a problem for a long time, and he needed something to change.

That was about 10 months ago.

He’s been quietly, consistently putting in the work ever since — no fanfare, no shortcuts. Just showing up and doing what needed to be done that day.

What 42 Weeks of Consistency Looks Like

Recently, Max sent a message that we haven’t stopped thinking about. He shared that in 42 weeks, he’d lost almost 40 pounds — and more than that, his back pain has improved significantly. He credited the environment here, the encouragement, and the accountability that comes from being part of something bigger than a solo gym membership.

What struck us wasn’t just the numbers. It was the quiet confidence in how he said it. Still have more work to do. That’s the mindset that gets results. Not the finish line mentality — the kind that keeps showing up even when the work is long and slow and unglamorous.

Why This Matters

Back pain is one of the most common reasons people avoid exercise — and one of the most common reasons people feel stuck. What Max figured out is something we try to build into every class, every coaching cue, every modification we offer: movement done consistently and intelligently is medicine.

He didn’t need a miracle program. He needed a place that would meet him where he was and keep showing up for him. He did the rest.

What Community Looks Like at Our CrossFit Gym in North Canton

This is what community looks like in real time. Not highlight-reel moments — 5:30am Tuesdays when nobody’s watching. Scaled workouts that felt frustrating at first. A back that started to cooperate. A number on the scale that finally started moving.

At RTC, we believe we know your story and we show up for it. Max let us into his. We’re honored he did.

If you’re curious about what getting started at RTC looks like — especially if you’re working around an injury, managing pain, or just trying to find somewhere that will actually meet you where you are — [reach out to us here] or stop in. We’d love to talk.

Congratulations, Max. We’ll be right here for whatever comes next. 🧡
