What’s Harder Than Starting???

What’s the hardest part about fitness? Getting started.

You know what’s even harder than THAT?

…getting started again.

It’s easy to let fitness go this time of year. It happens to so many of us.

  • Schedules get crazy.
  • Year end projects are due.
  • You’re squeezing in every last meeting before heading off for vacation.

Then we have to get started again. It can be rough!

The best way to keep this from happening? Adjust your expectations.

It’s a busy time of year. It’s might be unreasonable to think that you’re going to be crushing it 5-6 times a week in the gym while sleeping enough, keeping your food dialed in, and also keeping your stress levels as low as possible.

Say it with me now…

“It’s OK if I don’t workout as much this time of year, but I’m still going to keep working out.”

5 days a week in the gym might turn into 3 days in the gym and 2 days with long walks outside. Or you may even accept that 3 days a week for the next 6 weeks is what you can handle.

That’s perfect.

I want you to think about what you know you feasibly handle (not what you think you should handle), and embrace it. This season is crazy, but your fitness doesn’t need to stop. We might have to taper our expectations a bit, but if that means we don’t have to get started again, that’s the win.

Consistency over the long term is what wins in fitness.

Don’t ever forget it.
